My Soft Life Starter Pack: Cozy Essentials for Disabled Girlies
My Soft Life Essentials: Just the Real Stuff
Hiiii again! (◕‿◕✿)
Since I talked all about my "soft life" goals for 2026, I wanted to share what that actually looks like for me day-to-day. I'm not some perfect influencer with a curated aesthetic. I'm just a girlie in Ohio trying to keep things cute while dealing with a body that hurts.
Being disabled means I spend a lot of time at home, so these are the things that actually make my life feel a little bit more "kawaii" and manageable.
1. My Bed
Honestly? Most of my "soft life" happens right here. On high pain days, my bed is my office, my dining room, and my movie theater. I try to keep it as cozy as possible with way too many pillows and blankets. If I have to be stuck in one spot, it might as well feel like a cloud.
2. The "No Jeans" Rule
I’ve officially given up on "hard clothes." Jeans are literally the enemy when your joints are acting up. Tbh, I hate jeans. I live in oversized hoodies and soft comfy leggings. It’s my "soft life uniform." It makes a huge difference in my mood when I’m not fighting with my clothes all day.
3. My Romance Books
I mentioned I’m a total lover girl! I’ve been leaning into romance novels so much lately. I am also writing my own and plan to publish it either late this year or early next year. There’s something so healing about reading a story where everything turns out okay in the end. It’s my favorite way to escape when the physical pain gets to be a bit much. I’m currently looking for more "slow burn" stories to obsess over... if you have any recs, please drop them!
4. Low-Sensory Vibes ✨
I’m really not a fan of bright lights. I get overstimulated very easily. I prefer lamps or just some soft lighting. It helps me stay calm and makes my room feel like a safe little bubble away from the rest of the world.
5. My Journal & Pens
Even though I’m shy and stay home a lot, I have so many thoughts. I use my digital products (sometimes print them) and my favorite pens to track my business ideas and my health stuff. Crossing things off a list, even if it’s just "washed my face today", makes me feel like I’m winning and actually doing something.
It’s not much, and it’s definitely not a Pinterest board, but it’s my life! I’m learning that a soft life isn't about buying expensive things, it's just about being kind to yourself. I will be lying if I said that I don’t want my life to be perfect like the influencers. I want an aesthetically pleasing room with all that cool stuff, but I can’t afford it yet. I might buy a crazy amount of plushies if I do have money. I am obsessed with plushies and want a lot of them. I have one named “Mr Pickles”. I am almost 30 so this may seem kinda silly to some. I think it’s cool tho!
If this resonated with you, feel free to check out my shop or leave a tiny tip to support my work. No pressure at all! I’m grateful either way, you being here is enough.
What are your "must-haves" for a cozy day? Let me know! ₍^ >ヮ<^₎
